Started in 2023, the program has included everything from original poetry and photography to musical performances and guest panels. The conference has addressed topics such as the environmental impact of the music industry to native hawks in L.A., urban rewilding, and the impact of sushi.
The Buckley Climate Conference
Students work on submissions all year for the opportunity to present at this unique forum for the development and presentation of new thinking, inspiring design, and innovative research. The conference includes all divisions, alumni, and guests from L.A. schools, and is supported by a student-led production and streaming team. Guest panel members include members of the Buckley community, leaders in the field of climate change, journalists, and individuals making a difference for our planet.
All aspects of the conference are designed with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. All food is vegan, gluten free, and the forum is a plastic free, no single use items, no paper conference.
As a result of their presentations, they have been invited as special guests to visit the Mayor’s Office.
